каждая неделя сегодня — это неделя воплощения фантазий Станислава Лема. ровно так же и эта — вначале одно, затем другое:

For the first time, researchers have controlled the movements of free-flying insects from afar, as if they were tiny remote-controlled aircraft.

By connecting electrodes and radio antennas to the nervous systems of beetles, the researchers were able to make them take off, dive and turn on command. The cyborg insects were created at the University of California, Berkeley, by engineers led by Hirotaka Sato and Michel Maharbiz as part of a programme funded by the Pentagon’s Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

Как это обычно бывает в истории, никто не понимал значения происходящего, поскольку открытия, которым предстояло слиться в DEHUMANIZATION TREND IN NEW WEAPON SYSTEMS, совершались в очень далеких друг от друга областях науки. Интеллектроника создала дешевые, как трава, микрокалькуляторы, а нейроэнтомология разгадала наконец загадку насекомых. Ведь, скажем, пчелы тоже живут в сообществах, работают ради общей цели и общаются между собой при помощи особого языка, хотя мозг человека в 380.000 раз больше нервной системы пчелы. Рядовому солдату вполне хватило бы сообразительности пчелы, только видоизмененной на военный лад.
