одной фруктовой компании™, как известно, в последнее время удивительно жутко везло на патентном рынке.
в ответ на что Google подумал-подумал — и купил мобильное отделение Motorola:
Our acquisition of Motorola will increase competition by strengthening Google’s patent portfolio, which will enable us to better protect Android from anti-competitive threats from Microsoft, Apple and other companies.
и все бы хорошо и замечательно (“Motorola Mobility will remain a licensee of Android and Android will remain open“, blah–blah), но вот один ньюанс:
Prior to or simultaneously with the motion for a preliminary injunction against Samsung, Apple also filed a complaint with the same court over the design of the Motorola Xoom tablet.
