It’s been awhile since Doc Sportello has seen his ex-girlfriend. Despite which he soon finds himself drawn into a bizarre tangle of motives and passions whose cast of characters includes surfers, hustlers, dopers and rockers, a murderous loan shark, a tenor sax player working undercover, an ex-con with a swastika tattoo and a fondness for Ethel Merman, and a mysterious entity known as the Golden Fang, which may only be a tax dodge set up by some dentists.

писать о роботах каждый день становится все легче — так, среди всего прочего они еще и актеры театра:
The play, which had its premiere at Osaka University, is one of Japan’s first robot-human theatre productions.
The machines were specially programmed to speak lines with human actors and move around the stage with them.
Playwright Oriza Hirata says the work raises questions about the relationship between humanity and technology.

меж тем, как в Англии с этим, определенно, проблема:
Sections 62 to 67 of the Criminal Justice Act 2008, passed in May of this year, make it a criminal offence punishable by up to three years in prison to possess material that is both pornographic and extreme.
причем слово ‘extreme’ звучит достаточно двусмысленно, особенно если вспомнить о правиле 34:
If it exists, there is porn of it. No exceptions.
иными словами, тащите фотографии своих гениталий на свалку, островитяне, или вас ждет Тауэр. ингсоц, натурально.

а роботы уже импровизируют, кстати. вот, право:
в 2008 году (месяц и число неизвестны) Сьюзен Кэлвин вступила в должность штатного робопсихолога фирмы “U.S.Robots & Mechanical Men, Inc.”.
с другой стороны, оказывается, что спрос на гигантские боевые человекоподобные роботы™ вызван именно отсутствием эмоций. ну да, ну да.
