Travis Wright, one of the writers behind Eagle Eye, has been working on a sequel to Ridley Scott’s Sci-Fi classic Blade Runner. Script proposals have explored the nature of the off-world colonies, what happens to the Tyrell Corporation in the wake of its founder’s death, and what would become of Rachel. Travis said he intends to write a script “with or without anyone’s blessings.” Director Ridley Scott appears interested in a sequel too.

The National Security Agency had access to all Americans’ communications — faxes, phone calls, and their computer communications,” Tice claimed. “It didn’t matter whether you were in Kansas, in the middle of the country, and you never made foreign communications at all. They monitored all communications.

bondage-and-discipline language: n.

A language (such as Pascal, Ada, APL, or Prolog) that, though ostensibly general-purpose, is designed so as to enforce an author’s theory of ‘right programming’ even though said theory is demonstrably inadequate for systems hacking or even vanilla general-purpose programming. Often abbreviated ‘B&D’; thus, one may speak of things “having the B&D nature”. See Pascal; oppose languages of choice.

Attaching stones and metals to the ears, and hanging necklaces around the throat and wrist developed a set of cultural and behavioral patterns that has barely changed in thousands of years. Materials gained value through their ability to emit or reflect light. <...> Fractal is ‘living jewelry’ as it has a range of behaviors that are stimulated by muscle tension and proximity. Performance sensing technologies enable integrated led light to detect changes in the wearers muscle tension and movement as well as other people in close proximity and respond by pulsing. Traditional LED lighting can be cold and uninviting but Fractal uses materials to diffuse, focus and filter the light, giving a warmer, soothing lighting experience.

With an aerial bi-axial Tourbillon mechanism, a structure that makes emptiness its core material, a skeletized dial, functional elements fitted to the side of the carriage and an industrial and minimalist spirit, the C1 QuantumGravity timepiece defies all laws, including that of logic and most of all, of gravity.

PATIENT: I… I can see little people.
DOCTOR: That’s fine.

Not to be outdone, their proposed new Law goes significantly further than the English one, creating the very real possibility that travellers could depart London with nothing but legal pictures on their laptop – and pull into Edinburgh Waverley facing arrest for their hard-drive smut.

next week (January 26 to be precise) it will become a criminal offence (in England and Wales) to possess pictures that the government deems to be “extreme porn”.

Tax haven the Isle of Man, with a population of around 80,000, wants to introduce a compulsory blanket licence for music downloads. Broadband ISP subscribers would pay a “nominal” compulsory tax, but be able to share music legally.
