The 5.1-inch screen is too big to operate with the hand that’s holding it, unless your thumb can stretch like Mrs. Incredible’s. But Samsung has a clever, if weird, fix for this: Among the Galaxy’s 732,852 features is one called “One-Handed Operation,” whose function is to shrink the screen so that you can reach all of it with your thumb. It leaves empty black areas around the shrunken image.

там еще много разного, впрочем, от сканера отпечатков (чье противопоставление с iPhone 5S напомнило мне вечное сравнение MacBook-тачпадов и всех остальных) до времени работы батареи (все то же сравнение приходит на ум), от разбора программного обеспечения до подсчета, сколько же различных официальных почтовых программ заранее установают кропотливые разработчики.

но вот главная фраза, и это относится ко всей индустрии, мне кажется:

In short, Samsung clearly has no problem coming up with stuff to put into its phones. The challenge, as Jobs once said, is “knowing what to leave out.”
