Moves by some U.S. states to legalize marijuana are not in line with international drugs conventions, the U.N. anti-narcotics chief said on the 12 of November.
“I don’t see how (the new laws) can be compatible with existing conventions,” Yury Fedotov, executive director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), told reporters.

вчера Apple выпустила SDK для будущих часовщиков-разрабочиков, где рассказывается, как именно пользователям можно будет можно будет лайкать очередных кошечек или деточек[1]. вот хорошее резюме:
One of the best things about the iPod when it first came out was explaining how it worked — it was so simple, and people figured it out so fast. Same with the iPhone and iPad. You get the feeling that won’t be the case with the Apple Watch.

а еще мне кажется, знаете, что может и прав был Достоевский в свое время:

отсюда, вскормленные кособокими тесными улочками, обязательными магистратами, пеплом Реформации и парусами открытий[1], отсюда, попав, скажем, в Японию, или Персию, или Сахару, мне кажется, это чувство, инопланетности, оно должно заполонить все: перед нами другой мир, и мы не знаем о нем, не понимаем, ни чувствуем практически ни черта.
так же и с Россией, разве нет?
меня часто, наверное, обманывало это классическое созвучие — романа, симфонии, науки — между одним краем этой части света и другим. в конце концов, тот же Лев Николаевич[2], или Бродский, или даже футуристы. так близко, так похоже, так вместе. все это определенно вводит в заблуждение.
но правда в том, что туда, к восточному хребту Европы, лежит действительно совсем другой мир. фундаментальный, состоявшийся, нерушимый. инопланетный. и никто и никогда друг друга не поймет: они чужие, мы чужие, ветер чужой. государства, книги, слова — все, что выворачиваются наизнанку в простейших, казалось бы, фразах, меняя ролями причины и следствия. и “люди жертвы следствий” в приложении к упомянутому государству.
я не знаю, что такое Россия, и куда эта тройка[3]. наверное, там и в самом деле какие-то свои цели, свой халифат, общность, идентификация — мычащее “мы”, столько тонко подмеченное сермяжным польским словом; that very imagined community. свои надежда и любовь, в конце концов.
но я не умею их понять, к сожалению. и вижу только угрозу.
