а вот и еще один консольный инструмент — интерфейс для чтения сообщений из Google Reader в Vim. выглядит феерично — ни тебе тегов / каталогов, ни картинок, разумеется. однако, с другой стороны, подкупает именно такая вот аскетичность — иными словами, я этот скрипт все-таки[1] установил[2][3].

[1] — использует HTTPS
[2] — Vim, идущий в комплекте с Mac OS X (/usr/bin/vim), почему-то не сообщает о себе, что он ‘mac’, в связи с чем не работает открытие ссылок. для того, чтобы это исправить, просто замените оператор ветвления:

The trading bots visualized in the stock charts in this story aren’t doing anything that could be construed to help the market. Unknown entities for unknown reasons are sending thousands of orders a second through the electronic stock exchanges with no intent to actually trade. Often, the buy or sell prices that they are offering are so far from the market price that there’s no way they’d ever be part of a trade. The bots sketch out odd patterns with their orders, leaving patterns in the data that are largely invisible to market participants.

замечательная подборка “Is Apple a Cult, a Religion or a Brand?”. автор вспоминает памятное эссе Умберто Эко, цитирует раличные научные (“How the iPhone became divine”) и журналистские исследования:

иными словами, тема смешная, безусловно. но эти жизненные формы и метаморфозы, все же, определенно заслуживают изучения.

Writing in IEEE Computer, Professor Noel Sharkey, from the University of Sheffield´s Department of Computer Science, along with former Crimewatch presenter Nick Ross and Senior Interpol Advisor, Marc Goodman, warn of a coming robot crime wave in which military and police robots could be open to abuse from criminals.
Building robots is 80% cheaper now than 20 years ago and with the potential increase in production the experts are calling for manufacturers to `think thief´ and plan against crime when they are designing the machines.
