Two female athletes from Russia have kissed on the podium as they received their gold medals at the World Athletics Championships in Moscow in protest at the country’s new ‘anti-gay’ laws.
Kseniya Ryzhova and Tatyana Firova decided to make the statement as they went up to accept their prize for winning the 4×400 metres relay.
