The nature of the personal computer is simply not fully understood by companies like Apple (or anyone else for that matter). Apple makes the arrogant assumption of thinking that it knows what you want and need. It, unfortunately, leaves the “why” out of the equation — as in “why would I want this?” The Macintosh uses an experimental pointing device called a ‘mouse’. There is no evidence that people want to use these things. I dont want one of these new fangled devices.

San Francisco’s Bay Bridge is getting a makeover that will leave a large portion of the old bridge unused, but still standing strong. Now two architects are proposing that the city build a neighborhood on it.

In a detailed proposal for what they call The Bay Line, the architects suggest the bridge could be a series of public parks with neighborhoods hanging beneath the bridge.

вспомогательная функция Google Preferred Sites, кажется, отошла в небытие: среди экспериментальных дополнений ее больше нет, и соответствующий раздел помощи указывает в пустоту.
что ж, за год использования ощутимых результатов с ее помощью я не добился. и, видимо, не я один.
зато появилась другая новинка, Google Social Search, замечательная по духу, и в очередной раз грозящая обойти меня стороной по той элементарной причине, что таких способных friends у меня практически нет.
а жаль.

буквально сегодня говорил о том, как сложно жить человеку без классики — так вот они, решения, натурально. все меняется, конечно:
